簡介 |
美國科學促進聯會（American Association for the Advancement
of Science，簡稱AAAS）於1848年創立，旨在成為科學所有學科的代表機構。AAAS歷史悠久，而且據稱是全球最大的科學學會，目前著力支持科學交流，也支持科學與社會議題的討論。
AAAS的工作項目涉及不同的範疇，科學與政策（Science and Policy）是其中之一，目標是推展科學家的工作、增強科學謀求人類福祉的效用、鼓勵科學自由與責任。1995年，AAAS在科學與政策這個項目之下，設立了名為科學、倫理與宗教對話（Dialogue
on Science, Ethics and Religion）的長期項目，旨在促進科學與宗教社群的溝通，並倡導就科學和科技進步在倫理與宗教上的含義，進行多學科的教育和研究。活動包括舉辦論壇、學術會議和每月的科學與宗教公開講座，並為大學生和畢業生提供研究和出版等工作的實習機會。 |
